Welcome to our website

This is in my opinion a shameless attempt to garner readers. I make no pretense at being anythign more than I am. A struggling writer trying desperately to make a mark in a world gone digital. Here, I create realities that I would like to see. I write as a friend of mine one said  "To find the place I would rather live than the one I live in now." 

Personally I think it's not that bad here, but it could be better. I've felt that way ever since I saw my first Rocky Jones, Space Ranger movie. . And Scott McCloud the Space Angel. And of course, George Reeves in the role he couldn't escape, Superman. That was the extent of Science fiction in those days. There were others but like today they seldom lasted longer than  few weeks.

Then came Star Trek. A mediocre show at the time, we had no idea it would become the blockbuster it became later. Those of us that enjoyed the show didn't care, or even understand what those kind of things even meant. All we knew was that here was a show that promised a future that wasn't bleak and desolate. Where things would get better and mankind would survive to see it.

In the name of those TV shows, and the coming of Star Trek, I chose to be a writer. To tell stories that inspire as well as entertain. That is one of the things that to me is the pride of Sci-fi. The ability to open a mind, to show a new idea, to give a person a goal to shoot at. Like the Comunicator of Star Trek. Or the online money system from Babyon Five, who knows if one of the details found in one of my stories or any of the ones written today could be the inspiration for the next great leap in technology. It might be as simple as a new computer chip or the final componenet to a warp drive. One thing about sci fi, the sky is the limit. 

This theme is realated in both my stories and my blog which I don't get to it as much s I'd like, as I am usually concentrating on one or the other of my stories. I firmly believe in the old adage, "a writer writes, always."  A more modern version would be that he sells some of them too. Hence, this place.

Here I can direct you to places where you can find my stories. Both the ones on sale and the ones I have posted on line. Try them on for size and see what you think and if you like my style, check out my for sale items. Short stories (for me)are about fifty to a hundred pages. My novels run from three hundred to a thousand pges so trust me they are an undertaking but one that I think you will enjoy.

For the free stories of mine and other writers, go to fanfiction.net. Warning! To those of you unfamiliar with it, this is a site decvoted to writing in its rawest and simplest form. Some of the writers are children and untrained, as the only qualification needed to write there is imagination. You can find you favorite shows and characters there in forms you may or may not recognize but like my site here they are the products not of what the writers of the stories want or wanted but rather what the watcher or readers, (Yes they have books revamped as well,) want them to do. Type in Alexander Dregon and you wil get a link that will take you to my stories directly, or simply go and browse. But remember, these are beginners, so not every thing may not be up to your standards.
